School Uniform

The school adheres strongly to the belief that school uniform is a factor in establishing a controlled atmosphere in which students can work efficiently. It is hoped that parents will co-operate in ensuring that their children wear the correct uniform at all times. The list is as follows:-

 

BOYS:

  • Black blazer with school badge.Plain white shirt.

  • School tie - fastened at the collar, with minimum of 12 stripes of the tie showing.

  • Plain black ‘V’ neck jumper/cardigan (not long)

  • Plain black school trousers which hang from the waist. Not drainpipe, tight tapered or turn-up styles. No denim or Lycra. No adornments.

  • Plain black formal shoes. Boots, sports/logo shoes are not permitted.

  • Outdoor coat: Suitable for wet weather, to be worn over the blazer. Hooded sweatshirts/coloured tops/tank tops are not permitted in school and will be confiscated

 

GIRLS:

  • Black blazer with school badge.

  • Plain white shirt.

  • Plain black formal shoes. High heels, platform, backless shoes, boots, sports/logo shoes are not permitted.

  • Outdoor coat: Suitable for wet weather, to be worn over the blazer. Hooded sweatshirts/coloured tops/tank tops are not permitted in school and will be confiscated.

  • Skirt: Regulation black box pleat skirt with visible gold waistband and Lode Heath Star. This can be purchased from Early Years or Clive Marks. No other skirt is permitted.

  • Tights/Ankle Socks: Plain black or beige, or plain black ankle socks (not knee high or over the knee socks or leggings)

Hair, makeup, jewellery and other accessories:

  • Hair should be a natural colour, no shorter than No. 2. (No extreme styles, including ‘tramlines’, sculpting or undercuts).

  • The wearing of make-up and nail varnish is not permitted. This includes acrylic/gel or any other fake nails. Fake tan is not permitted.

  • Jewellery may not be worn on display other than a watch and a single plain stud may be worn in each ear. No rings, zips, chains, wide belts or ear stretchers. No other body piercing is permitted.

  • Smart watches e.g. apple watches are not permitted to be worn or brought into school.

  • Students may change footwear for sport at break or lunch but must return to the building in full uniform.

  • In bad weather, students should bring a change of shoes.

  • Baseball caps are not permitted in school and will be confiscated.

Students coming to school in inappropriate uniform may be asked to go home to change. They will be expected to make up this time and it will also be noted on their school record as an unauthorised absence.

 

School Bags - Please note that school bags for transporting books and equipment should be a rucksack or satchel types and NOT small/mini/pouch style bags. Bags should be large enough to fit A4 exercise books and other necessary equipment.

If uniform rules are not adhered to formal sanctions will be put in place.
